"So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all..."
Galatians 6:9-10
(The Message)
There are a lot of great organizations out in the field, serving around the corner and around the world. Occasionally we will promote activities and events through which you can get involved.
ANGEL TREE - Imagine being a child. It is Christmas, but one or both of your parents are not able to be with you. They're in prison. There are an estimated 1.5 million children in the United States who have at least one parent incarcerated. Angel Tree provides the opportunity for these children to receive gifts from their parents, purchased on their behalf by you. This is a great way to be Jesus with skin on. Help celebrate His birth with a gift to a child who needs one! If you're in Columbus, Ohio, you can get plugged into the program through Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, or by contacting Jennifer Cameron.
Christmas Cookies for Kids - Who doesn't love Christmas cookies? We all do. But there are many people - many children - who do not have homemade cookies at this time of year. Why not do something about it? Get together with your friends, with your kids, bake some cookies to share. Bring some joy into the lives of others who could use some. More...
Mentoring - All of us have special skills and abilities. How might you be able to use yours to help in the development of another individual? Into the Field is involved with weekly mentoring and tutoring of an elementary school student for whom English is not her first language and school is not easy. Not only is the student (hopefully) benefiting from this one-on-one time, but we're being blessed through the relationship and opportunity to serve. Why not contact your local school or church to see if they have a need that you can fill?
